FAQ

Get answers to your top questions about transferring to °Ä²ÊÍøAPP.
Do transfer students qualify for OSAP?

Yes! Transfer students can apply for OSAP (or other provincial aid) while attending °Ä²ÊÍøAPP.

Will my GPA transfer to °Ä²ÊÍøAPP?

Your transfer GPA will be used to determine your Automatic Entrance Scholarship, but your transfer credit grades will not be included in your °Ä²ÊÍøAPP GPA.

How will I know if my courses transfer?

Soon after all documents and transcripts have been received, you should hear back from the Registrar’s Office about which courses require submission of a syllabus and which ones are transferable. A preliminary evaluation can be provided by contacting your admissions counsellor; however, these evaluations are not binding. To be eligible for transfer credit, international transcripts (outside Canada/USA) must be sent through a WES course-by-course evaluation.

Do I always get transfer credit if my grades meet the requirement?

Transfer credit is based on grades, program applicability, and school accreditation. Some courses may require you to provide a syllabus to be evaluated for transfer credit. Transcripts are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Is there financial aid available for transfer students?

Yes, for students transferring directly from a recognized undergraduate university institution, scholarships and bursaries will be awarded based on the grade point average of the last year (two terms) of full-time studies, using the same minimum GPA requirements as those required of returning °Ä²ÊÍøAPP students. Transfer students are also evaluated for the Automatic Entrance Scholarships at admission.

Do I have to live on-campus?

Students going into the first or second year of their traditional undergraduate academic program are required to live in housing. These students are guaranteed a spot in residence, provided they have submitted their housing form by June 1.

What is the Core Curriculum and how does it impact me?

The Core Curriculum is a set of 10 courses that every student at °Ä²ÊÍøAPP takes, spread over their 4-year degree. The Core gets you to engage beyond the boundaries of your major area of study, teaching you to think broadly and innovatively.
